LAB2022 Dresses a Reborn Muse

In these series of photographs shot by photographer Jacques Burga, Italian-American singer-songwriter Antoniette Costa embodies a marriage between minimalism, avant-garde experimentation and timeless style, creating an aura of sophistication with an edge.

Costa released Pitupatter her latest album this year, and began writing the title track while in the MRI machine as revealed by People Magazine, where she shared she had surgery for a brain tumor and composed the songs during her health journey.  Her compositions blend classical, jazz and Italian folk.
 
This felt like a precise moment to be reborn as the muse and absolute darling of this series of images styled by Justin Friedman with daring Gucci pieces from the 90s. The result? high fashion minimalism and avant-garde sensuality, characterized by sleek silhouettes, and a bold approach to femininity.
 
The outfits provided by LAB2022 are part of a rare unique and rich archived  predominantly showcased form-fitting dresses and bottoms with simple elegant cuts in red and blck. The silhouettes are clean and structured, highlighting the models' figures while maintaining a sense of understated chic.
 
Meanwhile, Burga’s body of work delivers sensuality, rawness, and artistic experimentation, subverting traditional glamour in favor of a more vulnerable, provocative, and often unsettling aesthetic. All of which matches the archival pieces' DNA.
 
The images feature intimate close-ups that showcase sheer vintage fabrics, lingerie, and figures in suggestive poses, accentuating the raw, unfiltered sensuality through an artistic lens.
